Dream
Run a marathon by the time I am 30 years old. I haven’t decided where I want to accomplish this goal. There are various marathons all over the United States. I think for my very first, I would want to be familiar with the area and there is no place like your hometown to conquer a goal. After my first goal is accomplished I am sure that there will be more to come just like it.
Ways to Budget for a lifestyle change
· Purchase bicycle and ride to work/activities. This would benefit my body/health, gain strength, and save money on fuel expenses.
· Spend grocery money more wisely. Instead of purchasing food items such as expensive sugary cereal or cookies I need to start purchasing more fruits, vegetables and protein.
· Wash the dog myself.
· Find a way to limit cell phone bill. This is difficult to do because it is set at a set rate for my husband and I.
· Rife’s I could start to pay minimum payment but I am only $250.00 away from paying it off. This is a credit line my husband and I opened for new bedroom furniture.
· YMCA bill is for my husband. I am still under my father’s contract. In one year I will either have to be added to Jordan’s account or workout outside more often.
· Debit purchases is the area where we could save money the easiest. Each week I could give myself and my husband an allowance of $40 and that’s all you get, no use of the debit card unless agreed between the two of us.
· I am also not working right now due to school. I will begin my nursing career in two months and this will significantly add to our income.
Adjust income and spending
Like I said earlier, income will be adjusted in two months. We will be making about double what we are now. This gives me the perfect opportunity to save money for a nice bicycle and training devices for a marathon. I am 21 years old and want to accomplish this goal by 9 years. There is no time like the present to get started on it now. Before I know it time will fly by and my expenses will be going else where.
